In my work, I reinterpret classical figurative realism through the inner tension between artisanal precision and the spontaneity of material. The central motif of my sculptures is the contrast held within the human face itself: the point at which a carefully preserved, fragile expression meets the raw, almost violent force of cast lead.

I am fascinated by the controlled chaos of casting lead and tin alloys, by the moment when glowing liquid metal presses against the limits of its mold. As the surface appears to break down under craters, scars, oxidation, and irregularities, I seek to preserve the delicate anatomy of the human face. It is in this coexistence of purity and damage, discipline and accident, that the work opens a psychological space for reflection on the human condition.

I choose lead deliberately, for its symbolism, weight, and historical memory. It is a metal that has accompanied human civilization since antiquity and the Middle Ages, continually changing its form and purpose while remaining, in essence, the same material. In this, I see a parallel with human thought and with the impermanence of the physical body. Across the centuries, we return to the same fundamental existential questions: does the human mind truly change over time, or does it only reappear in new historical forms? This is why I portray specific personalities. Within the recurring cycle of human history, their thoughts, discoveries, and actions brought new impulses into the ancient mold of human thinking, much like old lead being cast into a new and unprecedented shape. Each bust becomes both a meditation on the fragility of human memory and a tribute to the endurance of the human spirit within the continuous transformation of matter.

In addition to my sculptural work, I offer the possibility of commissioning memorial plaques dedicated to a chosen personality. Each plaque is handmade, with the portrait, name, and dates individually crafted with attention to authenticity, artistic value, and lasting remembrance. I work from supplied photographs or historical references and am available to consult on the design, format, and placement of each piece. The works are suitable for interior and exterior display and are created using durable cast-metal techniques.
